The cost of civil litigation can directly quantize the effectiveness of civil litigation, which not only influences parties exercising their right to appeal, but also is an important factor to construct a harmonious society. It is also critical for the parties to decide a certain way to resolve their disputes. We have to pay highly close attention to the high cost of civil litigation, since it is a prominent problem in China's civil justice practice.This dissertation analyzes the specific constitution of civil litigation costs and the existing questions in our current practice, discusses the principles of domination of civil litigation costs, and submits specific suggestions on the domination of civil litigation costs which may be helpful to reforms of civil litigation system and continuously enhance profits of civil litigation. Except for the introduction and peroration, this dissertation mainly consists of four parts as follows:The first part is an overview of the cost of civil litigation. It introduces and analyzes the concept of the cost of civil litigation, its classification and fundamental significance of research for the cost of civil litigation to pave the way for other parts below.The second part focuses on a comprehensive analysis of status quo of civil litigation costs in China. This part construes status quo of legislation of civil litigation costs, constitution of civil litigation costs undertaken by the nation and the parties, and the existing questions in our current practice in order to find out the source of the high cost of civil litigation and "prescribe the right remedy for an illness".For the previous analysis, the third part submits the control principles of civil litigation costs in China in order to reform the system of civil litigation costs and enact the principled creed.The fourth part puts forward a number of suggestions and measures on the domination of civil litigation costs which I hope to contribute to reforms of China's civil litigation system.
