Contemporary Educational Function Of Laozi 's Thought

The thought of Lao Tze, is a kind of comprehensive thought, covers different fields of the development of human society, the great essence that the thought of Lao Tze owns, not only has a guiding significance for that time, but also blooms the sparking of glory in the history of the development of human society. Anyway, in today’ s society, it also can be referred by us.The Tao Te Ching is the precipitation of Lao Tze’s wisdom and it is divided into two parts, between the lines, it contains the great essence of the ancient Chinese philosophy. Lao Tze started from the nature, according to the social condition of that time and based on the excellent thoughts of predecessors, respectively from two aspects —Tao and Te, deeply interpreted the rules of the national governance, the social construction, the ecological harmony and so on. Besides these, it also reveals the way of personal cultivation. According to the different problems of social development, Lao Tze has put forward some practical and feasible solution, and he has also made some corresponding requirements, no matter for the rulers or the ordinary people: advocates to take the preventive measures; pays more attention to people’s livelihood, advises the rulers to let their people be the first; respects for the heaven, regards the universe as the root of everything and believes that nothing can beyond them; attaches great importance to the natural behavior and against doing things deliberately. He also advocates thrifty and puts “thrifty”, “generosity” and “low-profile ” together to be the three treasures of life.This paper is based on the analysis of Lao Tze’ thought, and explain the basic embodiments of Lao Tze’ thoughts about political construction、social development、personal cultivation and ecological harmony, and combine with the actual situation of social development, and find some realistic problems that seriously hindered political construction、social development、personal cultivation and ecological harmony, and at the same time, this paper also find the solutions of these problems. For the reality: first, we should learn Lao Tze’s “laissez-faire” thought, devolve power to the subordinate and weaken administrative intervention properly; second, combine Lao Tze’s thought of people’s livelihood with the current society reality, establish a social security system and perfect it, in order to fundamentally safeguard people’s rights and interests in life; third, advocate thrifty, oppose extravagance and waste, strengthen people’s saving consciousness; forth, during the process of the ideological and moral construction, we must avoid mechanical preaching and ought to turn “tangible” into “intangible”, set up the moral models and in the osmosis, inspire people to be positive, by this way, we can form a good situation, in which everyone will strive to be the first and the best; fifth, deeply understand Lao Tze’s “heaven comes first” theory and attach some modern connotation on it, adhere to the road of sustainable development, protect the ecological environment, respect the rule that all things’ development in a nature path and then build a harmonious situation, in which nature and humanity can get on well with each other.In a word, this paper makes a deep study of Lao Tze’s thought, and efforts to find out the effective ways of solving the drawbacks that lie in the process of the development of modern society, in order to promote a sound and rapid development of our country.
