Research On Criminal Investigation Based On Citizen 's Personal Information Management

With the rapid development of economy and the fast movement of large-scaled people and objects, various kinds of social problems and social contradictions appear, and many kinds of crime emerge, which presents a great challenge for criminal investigation. Crime can vary in different forms, e.g., violent crime, terrorism, economic crime, organized crime, digital crime, and crime in financial and securities field. From the essence of crime, any crime may contain related information and traces. Therefore, is is meaningful to systematically collect and manage citizens’ personal information and investigate how to use the collected information to facilitate criminal investigation.Under the context where citizen can participate in many social activities and their personal information can be collected via various channels, this study focuses on systematically managing and using citizens’personal information to facilitate criminal investigation. The ultimate goal is to help related departments in effectively employing citizen’s personal information to fight various kinds of crime. The novelty of this research is that we expand the sources of citizens’ personal information, and build a more complete framework to manage citizens’ personal information. Therefore, we can obtain updated, dynamic and comprehensive information. Based on the foundation of personal information management and the steps of criminal investigation, we try to explore how to use citizens’ personal information to assist the whole process of criminal investigation.
