Among international, political and economic relationships, Sino-Japanese relation is not only an important hot issue, but also an extremely difficult problem. If China wants to achieve the national rejuvenation, and to create a peaceful and sound international environment, she must properly handle the issues concerning Sino-Japanese relation which is an important subject. If China and Japan could live in peace, East Asia would be safe and stable. However, if the contradiction between China and Japan is escalated, the world peace will be endangered. The development of Sino-Japanese relation is a test of the wisdom of the two governments and their people. Building good relationship between China and Japan will not only benefit the political mutual trust, the security assurance, the overall cooperation, and the peace and stability of East Asia, but also the implementation of our foreign policy of “peace, development, cooperation and overall winning” and the preservation of Sino-Japanese “Strategic and Mutually Beneficial Relations” as a whole. From this standpoint, this research paper possesses a strong practical and theoretical significance in identifying a variety of complexities of the Sino-Japanese relations and in broadening the channels for further developing relationship between the two countries.Six parts have been mentioned on the analysis of this issue. Chapter 1 is the introduction part from which the author emphasizes the great importance in studying Sino-Japanese relation, and analyzes the current situation of the research both home and abroad. The methodology has been mentioned in this chapter.In Chapter 2, the author has briefly traced the development of Sino-Japanese relation. The Chinese and Japanese has started friendly exchanges since the Tang Dynasty. From the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties to the modern and contemporary age, the Sino-Japanese relations have gone through ups and downs, including serious setbacks even like an outbreak of war. It can be found that there were laws which were worth thinking in the development of Sino-Japanese relation. The core is that the Sino-Japanese relation can remain peaceful and stable as long as China is powerful, prosperous and stable. Once China declines in its politics, economy and culture, Japan may have started to covet the resources and territory of China. As a result, there will be frustrations between the two countries. It is based on such cognition of history; this paper has put forward some sound strategies of dealing with the many problems of Contemporary Sino-Japanese relations.In Chapter 3, the author has studies the current situation of Sino-Japanese relation and the focus is on the achievements and problems of Sino-Japanese relation. The data has shown that the interdependence of the two nations is very high, and the deterioration of the relations is a hot issue for both countries. Furthermore, the serious problems between China and Japan cannot be settled in one day. It is necessary for the governments and people from both countries to establish a long-term relationship of mutual benefit with great courage and wisdom.In Chapter 4, the author has analyzed all sorts of factors influencing the development of Sino-Japanese relation from both positive and negative aspects. In each aspect, the author has paid a close attention to a more detailed classification, and the author has also tried to do a more comprehensive and detailed investigation from various levels including politics, economy, the government, the nongovernment, the domestic, the international and so on. Consequently, people can better understand Sino-Japanese relations.In Chapter5, Brief analysis is made on the future Sino-Japan relationship, in which it is pointed out that there is no possibility that war will break out between them, it is impossible that the bilateral economic relationship will experience ups and downs and that nongovernmental communication will be on the increase.In Chapter6, the author has investigated the strategies of advancing Sino-Japanese strategic reciprocal relations in a healthful and continuous way, and four aspects, i.e. politics, economy, culture and the nongovernmental contact have been mentioned. The author of this paper holds that politically we should guarantee the normal exchange and communication between the governments of China and Japan, respect the political choices and strategic arrangements of each other, and emphasize the patience and tolerance on the sensitive issues; economically we should continue to promote the comprehensive beneficial economic cooperation, focusing on the growth in the living standard of the people from two countries, provide all conveniences for the economic win-win situation, meanwhile, people cannot sacrifice the political benefits just for the economic interests, and a proper balance between politics and economy should been maintained; On the civil side, both China and Japan should contain to uplift of the national chauvinism, and the most important thing is the alert of Japan to the resurgence of the militarism so as to cultivate a rational, gentle and inclusive environment; on the cultural side, we should continue to expand cultural exchanges and communications, enhance the culture communication, exploit new channels and paths of cultural communication, China also should strive to develop the ethnic cultural resources which is began with the cultural cohesion and centripetal force, so as to attract all the countries from the whole world and resolve the conflicts between China and Japan by the interior culture.Chapter7 serves as a concluding part. From historical context and the regular development of Sino-Japanese relations, the author has analyzed past and current situations of Sino-Japanese relations and the author also sincerely hopes that the future of Sino-Japanese relations will grow healthfully. The author holds that a mutual benefit and win-win outcome between Sino-Japanese relation could develop in a long term only with a great understanding, trust and respect from governments and the people of the two countries. This idea can not only benefit the stability and prosperity of the two countries, but also the regional and world peace and development as well.
