A Study On The Role Of Media In "Color Revolution"

This study of the thesis focused on the functional role of the mass media which play different roles in the "color revolutions". With the development of the time, the definition of "color revolution" has narrow and broad points. As the mass media and communication technologies developed rapidly in the first decade of 21st century, the study of the role of media in "color revolutions" also keep up with times. "Color Revolution" broke out in Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and other countries in the region, the root causes are political corruption, economic backwardness, but we must consider the power of media. The reason of the mass media in the "color revolutions" to play such different roles is the elements of economic, political, legal, cultural, and the influence of western countries.The thesis consists of five parts. The introduction part introduces the background, significance of the topic, the research status at home and abroad and some research methods. The first chapter begins with the definition of "color revolution" and mass media, and it introduced the media category in the revolution. The second chapters analyze the role of the various types of media in the "color revolutions", and search the reasons of their political, economic, cultural and technical aspects. The third chapter discussed in detail of the government media, the opposition media, independent media, the Western media and network self-function role in different periods of "Color Revolution", and it is the core of this paper. The final chapter draws inspiration for media development from both domestic and international point of view, and from the role of the "color revolution" in the media.The current situation of our media environment is changing and developing with some difficulties. This article seeks to find useful inspiration for us boost on the role of mass media in the "color revolutions", and make some comments and suggestions of the development of media on this basis.
