Ludian, Zhaotong, one of the residential areas of minorities of the Yunnan Province. Besides the Han Minzu, there are also 26 other minorities who live here, like Yi, Hui, Miao, Bai, Pumi, Buyi, etc., they’ve been shared a characteristic living mode which all the Minzu live together in one area but each one of them possess their own community. During the communication amongst all those Minzu, the appearance of intermarriage is inevitable, and under this circumstances, it’s normal to cause culture conficts, among all the intermarriage types of this area, the most obvious culture conflicts came from those marriages formed by one Han and on Hui. In Ludian, the history of the Hui – Han Intermarriage can be traced back to hundreds years ago, but it was not very usual in the past, as time goes on, with the society development, the change of thoughts and the more and more contact between different Minzu, after 2000, the number of the Hui – Han Intermarriage family has increased. But because of the differences of religion, traditions and habits of these two Minzu, in this kind of marriage, there are culture conflicts we must deal with.Based on the existed research, this thesis chose Ludian as the investigative place and conducted the questionnaire survey and personal interviews to complete the investigation. According to all the datum that we collected, the thesis will introduce the social context and the condition of intermarriage of Ludian, analyse the cause and the aspects of the culture conflicts of the Hui – Han intermarriage and last, discuss the influences of such conflicts and the adjustments of the conflicts. According to the investigation, the cause of the culture conflicts of the Hui – Han Intermarriage is not the difference of the religion as many people think, actually is the local persons’ misunderstandings or one-sided understandings of the Islamism, the religion formalization and the religion self-identity absence of those Han people who married to Hui people. All these conflicts not just reflect in every aspect of the Hui – Han Intermarriages and their family life, but also affect both the relation of those two families and the relation of two Minzu, even can have influence on the local harmonization. Therefore, this is the reason why the adjustments of all those culture conflicts are very important. The whole thesis consists of 6 parts: the first part is the introduction of the thesis; the second one presents the social context of Ludian and the general situation of the Hui – Han Intermarriage in this place; the third part includes the different aspects of the culture conflicts; the forth part analyses the cause of all the culture conflicts of the Hui – Han Intermarriage in Ludian relating to the results of the survey and interview; the fifth explains the influence of these culture conflicts; and the sixth one represents the thoughts of the adjustments of the conflicts based on the typical local situation; finally, the last part of the thesis offers a conclusion of all the present ideas in the text.
