The thesis discusses the possible changes on US-Japan alliance in face of an increasingly powerful China. The author would analyze a rising China’s influence on Sino-US relations and Sino-Japan relations respectively. On this basis, analysis will be made on the possible developing trend of US-Japan alliance in the process of the rise of China. A conclusion is reached that as the comparative power sharing among the United States, Japan and China changed, major change is likely to occur on US-Japan alliance. Through further analysis, the author recognizes that the collapse of US-Japan alliance is detrimental for China’s national interest rather than beneficial. Thus, it would be a wise choice for China to accept US presence in Asia-Pacific and build sound relations with the U.S. |
