The early realization of unification is the common wish of all the Chinese posterity. In the second chapter, the thesis will analyze the reform process in 16 years from the new century. The main content of the KMT’s reforms will be expounded by two stages, the opposition period from May 20, 2000 to May 19, 2008 and the ruling –party period from May 20, 2008 to May 19, 2016. In the third chapter, the thesis will analyze and evaluate the Kuomintang reform in the new century, including the effects of the reform of the KMT, the impact on cross-strait relations and Taiwan’s political ecology of KMT reform, as well as the analysis of deficiencies in the reform. In the last chapter, considering Taiwan leader election results in 2016, the thesis will intend to explore the prospect of the KMT’s second reform through analysis of the new political environment in Taiwan.
