Japan To Seek Political Power Strategy And Its Impact

Since the early 1980s, Japan has been regarding it as the most fundamental strategy to strive for political-power. Japanese political-power strategy will certainly bring on widespread and profound influences on the Asia-Pacific situation, even on the whole world situation, for Japan is the second strongest country in world economy. Therefore, it's bound to make our country face a ew ?Japan and more complicated area and world situation. As a close neighbor of Japan separated only by a strip of water, we must pay close attention to, study and react on the new developments of Japan. Only in this way, can we seek favorable standing in unpredictable international pattern. This paper analyses the promoting, implement and influences of the strategy systematically and deepgoingly. At last, the writer puts forward some superficial opinions about how to face Japan which is on the way to political-power. Totally, this paper is divided into four sections. The first section discusses what political-power Japan is striving for and why Japan decided to strive for it. After explaining the general intension of political- power, this section analyses three main goals of Japanese political-power strategy: to be equal to America and Europe, to lead the Asia-Pacific area and to turn into one of the permanent member states of the U.N.S.C.. Japanese striving for political-power is not only the inevitable outcome of its economic and political situation, but also the adaptive reaction on the changes of international situation, especially on the adjustment of American policy on Japan. The second section analyses how Japan has strived for political-power. We can't expound all measures of Japanese political-power strategy thoroughly because they contain each party of Japanese national life. The paper mainly expounds the measures Japan has taken to strengthen influences on international politics and build military force adapted to political power. In addition, this section analyses achievements these measures have gained and hinders they will confront. It will be a long way for Japan to go before it turn into a real political- power. The third section probes into what influences Japanese political-power strategy has brought and will bring about on international society. The influences whether beneficial or harmful are all widespread and profound. In respect of world peace, the strategy causes certain blast to world peace and more trouble to the Asia-Pacific security .As far as international relations are concerned, the strategy promotes multipolarity of world pattern and intensifies basic world contradictions; the strategy leads to many obvious harmful effects on healthy development of 5mb-Japan relation as promoting it. In point of world economy, on the one hand, the strategy accelerates development of the Asia-Pacific economy and urge world economic pattern to evolve, on the other hand, it brings on some hinders to them. The fourth section elaborates how China should confront Japan which is heading for political-power, that is to say, the attitude China should hold and countermeasure China should take. The writer thinks that we should work hard at all points to prevent Japan from becoming a militaristic political-power and urge it to become a peaceful, democratic and responsible one.
