Based on some related theories of Consumption Economy, this paper analyzes not only the main restricting factors influencing the present development of consumer credit in China, but also the realistic significance and advantage conditions of further practicing consumer credit policy. These are analyzed by comparison of the general situation in consumer credit development in China and abroad, meanwhile combined with the reasons and successful experience in developed countries and areas. Furthermore, the paper also puts forward the emphasis and suggestion on further practicing consumer credit policy at the present stage in China. This paper consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the author reviews the basic theories on consumer credit and mainly defines the fundamental conceptions and illustrates the basic theories to provide theoretic basis for further study. In accordance with the historical development and present situation of consumer credit in developed countries and areas, the second chapter analyzes the reasons and successful experience of their fast development so that it can provide beneficial reference for developing consumer credit in China. In the light of the general situation of consumer credit of development in China, the third chapter analyzes the main restricting factors of influencing the consumer credit development of at present in China, and points out that at present consumer credit is still at the stage of beginning and developing. There is much work to do to incite consumption and demand in domestic market with consumer credit. In the fourth chapter, the author analyzes the realistic significance and advantage conditions of further practicing consumer credit policy in China, and point out that it a necessary to further carry out consumer credit during the period of economic development in China. Furthermore, the potentiality of developing consumer credit is enormous in China. Aiming at the present actual economic condition in China, the fifth chapter points out the main choices of further purchasing consumer credit at the present stage and advances the suggestion on how to pactise the consumer credit further in accordance with the existing problems of consumer credit.
