As one of the main functions in the management chain, productionscheduling in CIMS is the key to achieving great efficiency, high flexibilityand strong reliability in production. Its research and application in relevantfields has become the important foundation to improve the benefits ofederprises on the whole and plays an importan role in CIMS. Especially inmixture industries, the technique rub and the choke point in the integration ofsystem functions lies in how to replace or basically rep1ace human planningand scheduling. Therefore, production scheduling is one of the key links inimplementing mixture manufacturing factory's CIMS.In this paper, the author attempts to make some research on thecharacteristics and the existing problems in the production scheduling ofmixture industries based on the sum-up and analysis of the development of theproduction scheduling and its present status of application home and abroad.Taking as an example the carton factory affiliated to China Packaging Imp.&Exp. Tianjin Corporation, the paper analyzes the features of its productionand production scheduling and the present problems existing in the factory.The author then put forward, on the basis of the preliminarily designed andchosen MRPⅡ software, the improvement scheme and the system structure ofthe factory's production scheduling that fits its mixed production process. Theauthor analyzes, designs and develops the production scheduling for thepasteboard workshop, a function generally not provided by MRPⅡ softwarebut important and necessary for carton factories to establish their productionscheduling system. The carton factory's production scheduling in CIMS isthus achieved by integrating the subsystem with MRPⅡ in CIMS. Whileanalyzing and designing the production scheduling subsystem for thepasteboard workshop, the author makes a successful attempt by adopting theadvanced IDEF and DFD structure analysis technique and their relevan toolsto build fimction model and information model and make an efficient systemanalysis and design with the models. In the meantime, a solution scheme tooptimized the job plan programming oriented the pasteboards workshop isestablished by combining linear programming with previous experiencesbased on the optimized modeling research. Moreover, deeper research is madeon the integration mode and exchange pattern in CIMS as per the requirementof CIMS information integration. Targeted at the role and characteristics of theproduction scheduling for the pasteboard workshop, the system integrationscheme is then put fOrward so as to achieve the information illtegraion ofproduchon scheduling subsystem of the pastebOard workshop with mIIsoftware.At presot, there are few studies on the subject of production scheduling inthe mixtUre manufacturing factories. ThrOugh the case stUdy of productionscheduling in the Affiliated Carton Factory of China Packaging ImP.& ExP.Tianjin Corporation in CIMS, the aUthr put forward the solation scheme tothe production scheduling in the mixture industry's CmS and the attemPt issuccessful. The system develoPed has aiready been put tO use by the factOryand brought abollt favorable economic benefits, Which will be significant forthe integraion and imPlemenation of CmS in the MixtUre industries.
