Modern Tourism And Cultural Heritage Protection

Cultural heritage is the master piece of human being with outstanding value and the cultural heritage tourism has become an important part of today life. While the conflict and unification between the modern tourism and the protection of cultural heritage has triggered off more and more attentions. Questions of how to understand the impact tourism has brought about to the protection of heritage and how to guide tourism to enhance its positive function has become very realistic theme for research. Accordingly, this thesis begin with quoting the authenticity dilemma that is ubiquitous in the development of heritage tourism temporarily, and through analyzing the internal cultural conflicts between these two sides and discussing the possible way of transforming the contradiction, then trying to proposing suggestions on the healthy development of cultural heritage tourism on the basis of all the former discussion.This thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the author lead to the focus of this thesis: authenticity dilemma by introducing the background and present situation. In chapter two, through analyzing the respective basic attributives and the evolving law of tourism culture and heritage culture, the origin of the authenticity dilemma is exposed. In the third part, on the basis of insight on the theory of cultural heritage protection, the author proposes to handle the question of authenticity with dynamic version. Further more, some possible ways of transforming contradiction are discussed. In chapter four, some points of view are testified by analyzing two cases, they are the reconstruction of Leifeng Tower and tourism development in Zhouzhuang. In the last chapter, the author points out that sustainable way of developing heritage tourism is the necessary way to achieve bilateral-benefit situation and gives some specific suggestions.
