That there appears a growing trend towards the use of plant medicine all over the world in recent years offers an opportunity for traditional Chinese medicine to go to the international market. Opon china1 s entry into WTO,traditional Chinese medicine will be expected to become the most advantageous and potential industry. This thsis is aimed at making a systematical analysis of how traditional Chinese medicine enterprises take the opportune work out the effective sales tactics and abtain a bigger share of the international market .It consists of four sections.The section one of this paper briefly analyses the present export situation of traditional Chinese medicine. It first makes a summary of the export characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine in these years. It analyses the advantages x disadvantages > challenge and chance and points out the urgency of enhancing international market sales of traditional Chinese medicine.The section two analyses the elaborate divisition of word" market of traditional Chinese medicine and it's target market.' through a detailed analysis of traditional Chinese medicine market with- overseas Chinese as main consumers,korean-Japanese market and American-European market,and a forth penetrating analysis of market characteristics,economic,political and cultural environment and development prospect of these markets,some proposals are put forward for traditional Chinese medcine 's international market sales strategy:that is,to strengthen and develop traditional market in a short time and enter American-European market as a long-term goal respectively.The section three is on how to chose correct market sales tactics. It focuses discussion on products,prices,channels and sales approaches.The important thing is to improve quality of traditional Chinese medicine and make some changes to suit the international market. It is difficulty to enter the world as medicine,so at first we can take distilled plant and food supplement as two instead forms. How to decide the prices and channels depend on the different tactics and the different enterprises. It is believed that the world recognition and use of traditional Chinese medicine should be predicated on the acception of traditional Chinese medicine culture so we try to strengthen people's consensus on culture.The section four analyses solutions. It points out that in order to lay a solid foundation and create a sound environment for the development of traditional Chinese medicine,both the development of enterprises and the support of government or society are needed,such as:large-scale,protection of intellectual property right,personnel training,working out the international quality standard,improving the management of export,strength culture cooperation,etc.
