Why would a country develop an international trade? It is evident that one country can benefit from participating in trade and trade only takes place when mutual benefits occur to both sides, though the interests obtained by either side can be different in proportion. New classical economics theory model has proved that taking part in the international division and trade results in a rational disposition of resources. However, the rational disposition of resources cannot always guarantee "satisfaction" to the participants because of the objectively existing differences in country origin interests, the way of cutting apart trade interests, the macro-economical goal for a country and the micro-economical goal for an enterprise. Especially to the developing countries, it remains a chief goal to develop economy and narrow the economic disparities between them and the developed countries. Therefore, to accord with the goal of the economic development involves something not only about whether to participate in the international division and trade, but also how to do it.International trade theories try to answer three basic questions, namely, the reason for commencing an international trade, the structure of the international trade (including goods structure and market structure) and the result of the international trade. Among existing research findings, I read a lot about foreign trade goods structure and one-country's industrial development, most of which are based on the comparative analysis of the interests theory, attentive to the comparative advantages and the industrial growth and upgrade. In our country, further investigation into the international trade market structure is not much. Then where does the foreign trade of a country flow? Why do our importation stem mainly from some countries and regions, while our exportation mostly flows to other countries and regions? What are thebasic factors that determine foreign trade geographical direction or the trading partner? I pay more attention to this problem in the course of studying, which has impelled me to study the international division further--because I find the trade flowing I focused on at first is sort of superficial and the key decisive factor behind is the international division state. The international division state of a country determines trade structure. When we export some goods to country A, we are importing other goods from country B. We trade this way just because of the interests. For this reason, the thesis begins with the phenomenon of the international trade flow to elaborate on its decisive factor--the international division. In the thesis,I attempt to expound and verify the realistic situation theoretically and analytically, with the focus on what role China plays in the international division after its accession to the WTO, what kind of trade development strategy should be adopted so as to catch up with the developed countries within a short time, and what tendency the Chinese foreign trade market structure is supposed to follow. The thesis structure develops inductively and logically: from phenomenon to essence. A predictive trend in the future is also made from the conclusion drawn from the analysis, inclusive of the consideration of the strategic decision on China's trade. The thesis is composed of four chapters: Chapter I employs some examples to analyse trade flow in the main countries of the contemporary world, which defines two kinds of trade flow trend and their pros and cons. Chapter II analyses how the international division state determines the geographical distribution of the trade flow from the following aspects: trends on a long-term basis and static behavior on a short-term basis respectively. After making a brief but comprehensive presentation of various theories of the international trade and generalizing the intrinsic logic of the regularity of its theoretical development, this chapter hasestablished a solid theoretical foundation for the further analyses. In order to explain the present situa...
