The paper also goes on to explore their nature and new characteristics in this era, demonstrating that the nature is not the relationship between the exploiting and the exploited but de facto economic disparity left over by history, and that the characteristics are the increasing economic interdependence between the North and the South, the strengthening institutionization of the relations, and the emerging group economic cooperation between the North and the South. At last, the paper looks into the prospects of the relations and puts forward some tentative suggestions on what economic strategies China should adopt.
