System analysis and design plays an important role in constructing information system. Object oriented analysis and design,on the other hand,is widely accepted by academia and industry. Applying objected oriented analysis and design to construction of MIS has an important and realistic significance. In reality, the trend hasn't been propitious,as traditional structural analysis and design has an obvious advantage over object-oriented analysis and design. The best way is to integrate these two means. The thesis concludes that on dealing with the complexity of the real system,it's important to provide a procedure of analysis and design. We can perform analysis and design according to the procedure and employ different means. What's more, procedure and means associate with each other tightly and influence one another. To combine the procedure and means of analysis and design smartly is the only way to settle the problem of complexity. The thesis carefully analyzes the development of system analysis and design and proposes a procedure of analyzing and design information system. The procedure also makes an intensive use of widely accepted object- oriented means. The thesis achieved the goal by analyzing an important conception in object-oriented field - use case in a mature and reasonable framework. These have been further proved by a real example. Lastly, the thesis prospects the future of system analysis and design considering the recent development of information technology.Object oriented analysis and design has established a standard of expressing the results of analysis and design. It's the graphic tools - UML. In the example, the thesis discusses the possibility of applying the UML in a reasonable way and a few new ideas of using the tools that have been proposed.
