China is a great agricultural country, and its agricultural population covers majority of the national population. The problems of agriculture, countryside and peasantry are important ones influencing the overall situation of China's reform, opening and modernization. Agricultural integration in China is a new agricultural management model which emerged in the early 1990's. Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee, the double management system based on household contract management has been carried out in rural areas in China. It has greatly aroused the farmers' enthusiasm, so agriculture and rural economy have developed fast, and tremendous achievements have been acquired. However, with the deepening of reform, some deep-going contradictions and problems have arisen in the course of development of agriculture and rural economy. To solve these contradictions and problems, by practice Chinese farmers gradually groped out a new agricultural management model, namely agricultural integration. This new management model manifested exuberant vitality shortly after it emerged, and has greatly promoted the progress of agriculture and rural economy. Practice proves that agricultural integration has been the breach of the advance and reform of Chinese agriculture economy, a good way to make a fortune for farmers. It's not only the basic way to develop Chinese agriculture, and the basic management model of market agriculture, but also the important way to promote agricultural modernization. Agricultural integration is a newly emerging thing in rural economy of China, so its connotation, organization forms, operating mechanism, etc. are still developing. This thesis expounds general theory of agricultural integration, and the background, conditions and significance of agricultural integration in China; analyses its organization forms and operating mechanism, and inquires into its implementing steps and the policy guidance.This thesis consists of six parts. Part 1 analyses general theory of agricultural integration. Part 2 elaborates the background, conditions and significance of agricultural integration in China, and analyses its logical process and model of gradual progress. Part 3 inquires into its mainorganization forms. Part 4 analyses its policy-making mechanism, benefit mechanism, binding mechanism and ensuring mechanism. Part 5 expounds its implementing steps. Part 6 analyses the role that Chinese government plays in the course of agricultural industrialization, and explores its replying tactics after China has entered WTO.
