The thesis is devoted to the study of some management problems occurred in the establishment process of Airport Company in City D. City D, a prefecture level city, is located on the boundary between Sichuan Province and Yunnan Province, whose transportation is poor as hindered by geographical factors. In order to perfect the transportation and promote the city, City D started to build airport at the end of 1999. I have been working in the Civil Aviation Management Bureau in City D since early 2002 when the airport was right in the transition from construction to operation. Therefore I was fortunate enough to have access to the whole process from motion, preparation, and establishment to operation of Airport Company in City D (which will be the main body of operation of the airport in City D). Starting from the management problems concerned in the establishment process of the Airport Company in City D, this thesis is trying to analyze the causes as well as results of the management problems and offer correspondent advices or plans for improvement. The thesis is composed of five chapters. The preface illustrates the aims, significance, methods as well as thinking of the research.Chapter One gives a brief description of the airport in City D. First, it introduces the construction and background of the airport, which is indispensable for an overall and thorough understanding of the management of the Airport Company. Then, based on the feasibility research report about the airport inCity D, it carries out an industrial analysis about the civil aviation transportation in this city, and therefore predicts the general environment for the development of the Airport Company.Chapter Two, the core of the thesis, analyzes the organization management of the Airport Company. The reasons why a large part of the thesis talks about organization management are that firstly as a newly established business, the Airport Company reasonably would deal with a lot of organization management issues. And secondly thanks to my job I have frequent access to and therefore I am more familiar with this area. In spite of State Owned Enterprise in nature, the Airport Company in City D follows the practice of institutions in determining the payroll and welfare of employees and receives financial provisions. The organization management of the Airport Company cannot be separated with government control due to the characteristics in nature. Governmental participation on one hand is support, on which the Airport Company depends, and on the other hand is interference, which limits the Airport Company. Nevertheless, market force will drive the Airport Company to run by itself. The balance of these factors leads to the characteristics of the Airport Company in organization management. As long as there are no fundamental changes to the mechanism of the Airport Company, the government and market will carry on with the organization management together. Chapter Three involves the prediction and analysis of the finance of the Airport Company in City D. Since the Airport Company in City D hasn't started to run yet, the overall analysis and prediction of the future finance of the company is lack of basic data. The thesis mainly predicts the revenueand expenses of the Airport Company due to its operation in the future, which would be a reference for the future operation on one side, and would be a base to apply for fixed subsidy from the financial department on the other hand. Chapter Four focuses on analyzing the marketing management in City D. It discusses the formation and selection of the market research plan for the Airport Company in City D, and then predicts the annual capacity of the Airport Company. On the basis of the prediction above, the thesis reviews the marketing of the Airport Company through 4P analysis method, and comments on the practices and results.Chapter Five analyzes production management of the Airport Company in City D. It discusses the necessities and attributes of the production process management...
