Tacit knowledge provides much of the basis for the way we interact with people and situations. It is of particular interest for those who are interested in how to manage Knowledge Organizations or those involved in Intellectual Capital. Because of its characteristic (personal, intangible, etc.), the executives of Knowledge Organizations need to construct an Informal Learning (IL) environment. Community of Practice (CoP) is an effective form of IL. Personal Knowledge Management (PKM), usage of Information Technology (IT), and performance-base management are other keys to establish IL in organizations. The world's leading knowledge company -- British Petroleum (BP) case study can support the article's viewpoint and give more inspiration.
