While the world's economics develops at a high speed, competition between modern enterprises become more and more intensive with constantly adjusted methods; under such circumstance, research in the area of competition methodology has become one of the most concerned topics in the industry, especially about the improvement of business models. However, the study of business models in China has just started, and domestic companies have not paid enough attention on this issue. Through the systematic study on the theory of business models and the illustrated research on the Chinese floorboard market, this paper demonstrates that business model has became the one of the most important competitive method. This paper also demonstrated the application of business models by introducing an innovated business model in the floorboard market.The rough structure of this paper is the following: it first explained theories on business model, and then analyzes business models in the floor board industry; after that, the author introduces his innovated business model for this industry – integrated furnishing model – in details.In the first chapter of the paper, the author introduced basic concepts of business models. He will talk about the basic elements of business models, enumerate and study the design methods of business models, and describes the evolution of business models, analyze related topics on corporate culture, organizational structure, and core competence. With industrial cases, he will summarize business models into 15 types, and describe the characteristics of each of them. He will also discuss the trend in business model evolution. In the second chapter, the author will study the floor-board industry in details, as business models in this industry are quite typical. The author will first introduce the current situation of this industry by analyzing product, technology, market, competition, and typical business models. Then he will demonstrate that the essence of competition of corporate is the competition of business models, in this emerging, high growth, high investment industry where companies are lack of differentiating factors.In the last chapter, with all the analysis done the previous two ones, the author will introduce the integrated furnishing business model, what was inspired by the author's real work experience in the industry. The author will describe the concept, and feasibility of this model. He will analyze the aspects on assumptions, operation, organization, and finance related to this model. Due to the characteristics and current situation of this industry, the author believes this model is very feasible and has bright future.
