Ideological education, as the indispensable part of socialist spiritual civilization construction, is the main work of our Party and the life line to all the other work. It has played an important role in history of our Party. However, due to the influence of Cultural Revolution and the ignorance about the ideological education at one time, plus the impact of market economy, people have been doubtful about the effect of ideological education. So how to carry out the ideological education becomes our new object.The advancement of "Taking human beings as foundation" provides a new kind of ideology and thinking. It is contrary to the one of "Taking mind as foundation", "Taking objects as foundation" and "Taking society as foundation". The original idea of "Taking human beings as foundation" is similar to "Taking people as foundation" and "Taking humanism as foundation". On the other hand, it has essential distinctions from the later two. "Taking human beings as foundation", as an important principle of ideological education, is not an imagination, but has its intrinsic foundations, including theoretical and realistic foundations: as for the theoretical foundation, Confucianism, as the dominant ideology in educational history of ancient China, advocated such principles as "Mercy to people", "Learn to a good person", "Enlightenment and guidance", "Different ways to different educatees"etc; In modern western educational history, humanism regards human beings as the main object, pays special attention to the individualism and personality and stresses the harmonious development of educatees' cognition and emotion. It has a great influence on education of all the countries across the world. Ideological education must absorb the Confucian quintessense of "Taking human beings as foundation" and use the beneficial elements of western humane education. But both of the two principles have respective weaknesses. Only the Maxist one is scientific. Therefore, ideological education must take it as its theoretical foundation in order to carry out "Taking human beings as foundation".From the view of realistic foundation, all the countries throughout the world attach great importance to the improvement of qualities, and education of humanist spirit of young people. And "Learn to care" becomes the most important educational purpose; In our country, with further reform, we have come to a new period of building a well-off country. In this new stage, Jiang Zemin put forward "Three Represents" as guidance theory of our Party and country. "Three Represents" embraces "Taking human beings as foundation" and advocates that ideological education must take this principle; on the other hand, the comprehensive development of socialist market economy provides material and theoretical conditions for the realization of education. And the state of ideological education also asks us to carry out "Taking human beings as foundation" so as to constantly bring forth new ideas in theory and ideology.We can carry out "Taking human beings as foundation" from the following aspects: take the law of human beings' ideological activity as basis, coordinate common and political education; with the scientific outlook of development of people; stick to the principle of coordinating ideological education and material interests; create a good educational environment; encourage educatees with benevolence and humane care.
