Benefited from it's comparative advantages, China has become "thehuge international workshop". In 2003 , China was the biggest country inthe world who got the most FDI, it's the fist place where the foreignerwould like to invest. The tendency still goes on. In 2004, the Degree ofDependence Foreign Trade is as high as about 60%. That means Chineseeconomy is integrated into the world quickly, Chinese corporationsbecome more and more important in the world produce and supply chain,by co-operated with MNC. This give us many opportunities, as well theproblems, the MNC's power is expanded in China , influence ours valuesand life styles not only in economy area, also in politics, techniques andcultures. While Chinese corporations are involved into the world economic tendency, the Chinese economic system changes as follows: the number of stated-owned corporation abates dramatically, so the worker is reduced. Meanwhile, non-stated-owned corporation developed rapidly, especially the private corporation and the "three-types foreigner founded corporation"; the government don't control the corporation directly, and adjust by macro policy more often; on the other hand, the government don't undertake economic responsibility; corporations can make more decisions by themselves, the drastic competition forces them to considerate business benefits far more than an other factors; the status of worker descends, they are not the "master of the corporation" but only a kind of resource. Finally, the regimented workers become the main labor of the labor-intensive corporations. Developing countries has got benefits from globalization, but the worker's benefits are hurt sometimes, such as working for "blood-sweat workshop". Because of this, social accountability requirement to MNCs are aroused in the world, major one of them is "product code". In these years, more and more MNCs make the codes, and ask their suppliers obey them. The codes are the principles involves the safety, the healthy, the environments, the worker policies. This dissertation mainly aims at analyzing the motive of productcode, the way it implements by, and it's results. From the attitudes ofrelevance , find out the reasons why the codes lose effect. Then givesome suggestions on how to protect the labor's benefits. The opinions will be expounded as follows: First, states the corporation should undertake the socialaccountability, the worker is the direct relevance to corporation, so theirbenefits should considerate by the managers of the corporations. Second, contrast the different product codes, "inner-outer code",and to our labor law, find out their difference, in order to integrate thecodes to our realities. By the supply chain, can the codes be applied, to know this, canhelp us find out the reason why the codes do not so well. Finally, give some suggestions on how to implement product codes,protect the labor's benefits more effectively. |
