As a newly developed management theory, corporate culture has been attracting more and more Chinese companies' attention. During the period of working in a consultant company, the author provided cultural management consultation service to some famous companies. The author has realized that there are some shortcomings in the practice of corporate culture and it can be improved in some aspects. The thesis has introduced the cultural consultation project of Shuohuang Railroad Developing Ltd, the biggest joint venture railroad in China, then analyzed developing course and theoretical system of the corporate culture during the past twenty years, finally pointed out the restraining and promising factors in the practice of culture management in Chinese state-owned companies, as well as the direction for further development.There are three parts in this thesis: the first one is the review of the corporate culture theory, including the history, concept, characteristic and operation of the theory; the second one is the analysis of the case of the corporate culture in Shuohuang Ltd, including six phases: the scanning of culture,building system, behavior oriented, VI designing and idiographic practice course; the last is the conclusion part, providing suggestions for the practice of corporate culture in Chinese state-owned companies.
