Supplier Selection In E-commerce Environment

Although the development of E-business based on Internet gives great influence on vendor selection, few people has touched this field in recent years. Research on vendor selection under E-business circumstance will heighten enterprise's key competence and improve the efficiency of the whole supply chain. The main work of this paper is introduced in the following part:To begin with, with the development of E-business based on Internet, the material influence on the vendor selection is provided, furthermore, the influent factors of how to change the tradition measurement indexes and methods are analyzed.Secondly, after the review of connected literatures in recent years, the weaknesses of tradition measurement indexes of vendor selection are analyzed, and then, relying on the theory of resource, E-business as a circumstance variable is added into the measurement indexes system, with the combinations of Empirical Study and Theoretical Study, the new measurement indexes of vendor selection under E-business are established.Thirdly, relying on the theory of production frontier, the concept of efficiency is added to the process of vendor selection, at the same time, two mathematic methods: DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchical Process) are introduced. Yet, each of them has its limitation, furthermore, the integrated model DEA /AHP is put forward in this dissertation. The new one that takes the best use of the two methods, by avoiding the pitfalls of each, can be used to select the most efficient vendor and it adapts to the need of building strategic alliance with the key vendors under E-business circumstance.At last, a case is given to test the feasibility of the method produced in this paper.
