E-commerce Technology Solution Design Strategy

E-business is the leveraging of network capabilities and technologiesto interact and transact with customers, suppliers, partners and employeesin order to achieve and sustain Competitive advantage. Technology is thefoundation and the support. As we know, E-business is a comprehensive and complicated system.Designing an E-business system involves several subjects, large numbersof technologies and the cooperation of a great deal of technologists. Thusdesigning methodologies is very important. The strategy for designinge-business systems is like a blue print. Under the guidance of the blueprint, technologists could leverage knowledge and technologies as muchas possible, adapt different requirements of different industries, andcooperate with other developers. Only in these processes acomprehensive and satisfied system could be efficiently designed. Because the studies on the e-business designing methodologiescould not satisfied the fast development of E-business nowadays, thispaper is aimed to summarize and research a comprehensive and moreefficient designing strategy for e-business system, based on the studies ofe-business solutions provided by those major IT corporations. In this paper, firstly, I analyzed the high-level architecture elementsof an E-business technical solution and the solution spaces. Base on theseanalysis, I discussed the general principles and a broadly definedapproach for designing e-business technical solutions. All these arebenchmark for further study. After a research on the system designing methodologies in softwareengineering, combined with the characteristics of e-business, I mainlydiscussed an object-oriented reusable designing strategy for e-businesssystem. By taking those successful e-business solutions experiences andusing them to build a repository of assets that provides a source fromwhich architects can reuse this experience to build future solutions, usingproven assets. This reuse saves time, money and effort and in the processhelps ensure delivery of a solid, properly architected solution. At the end of this paper I gave an application example of how to usethe reusable designing strategy to design a common e-commerce system.
