The quality system of product is a typical complex system with multi-factors. These factors include man, machine, materials, method, measurement, environment and so on.. We can utilize the theory and method of complex system science to solve quality problems. This thesis mainly discusses the continuous quality improving of the product system, where the thoughtway of system science sparkles. We integrate the tolerance-cost model into the Taguchi's quality loss model, and develop an adaptive design model of products. This model is then with the sequential optimization. This dissertation is organized as follows:In Chapter 1, we introduce the quality system engineering. First we elucidate the quality system's characteristics as a complex system. Moreover, the generation and development of quality engineering are reviewed.Chapter 2 presents the robust design theory. We introduce the basic theory of robust design, and then put the emphasis on the robust design based on dual response surface model.In Chapter 3, we introduce three kinds of the design of experiment (DOE), with the emphasis on the Taguchi method and its three design. At last we comment and compare the three kinds of methods of DOE.We explore the quality improvement and 6 σ engineering in Chapter 4. In fact 6 G engineering is a method of realizing the continuous quality improvement. It reflects the methodology of system science. PDCA model is used in static state, while SEA model is effective as the state is dynamic.In Chapter 5, we first give the general process of quality design and quality improvement. Then we study the non-linear system identification problem, including the experimental design of identification data, the model identification, the parameter estimation etc. For the quality design and the improved mathematical programming model, we proposed a solution method based on uniform grid optimization technique. Last, one examples in rubber description is given to demonstrate the process of our method.Finally, we summarize the research work of this thesis and indicate the future research directions.
