The commercial health insurance of our country begins with the period of resume business of domestic insurance of the beginning of the eighties of last century. And the commercial health insurance is a kind of contract behavior which is adhere to the voluntary principle, and regards making profits as object. In the medical security system, the social medical insurance is a foundation, ensure the basic medical demand, and the commercial health insurance is the important supplement to the former. So, the two should develop in step, realizing the mutual supplement with each other's advantages, at the same time each performs its own functions, but not substitute each other. After analyzing roundly and deeply the subject matter that the commercial health insurance of our country faces and the reason, historical background, describing a great deal of characteristics that the health insurance is different from other personal insurance business and using international experience for reference, this text point out that specialization management is the only way of development of commercial health insurance of our country.
