Peasant workers—workers from the countryside of China, as a special group during the period of social and economic transition, have originated accompanying with the reform of the Rural Economic system and urbanization progress of China. Working in cities is a great influence to the citizens and the peasant workers themselves, to urban and rural development of economy and society, to the industrialization and urbanization progress of China. So it is very important to strengthen the work on peasant workers' mentality and political ideas, which can protect peasant workers' legal rights, improve peasants' diathesis, promote the economic development of cities and countryside, keep the stability of society, quicken the progress of modernization and industrialization.The thesis includes four parts. Chapter 1 tells the concept of peasant workers and the background of the phenomenon of peasant workers. Peasant workers are those laborers who leave for cities to earn money by engaging in non-agricultural professions and are still peasants in household register. The economic inequality between cities and countries is the main reason why large quantities of peasants leaving for cities to work. The long-term inequality results in poverty of countryside. So large numbers of peasants have moved to cities to make more money since the end of 70s of the twentieth century.Chapter 2 tells the life and work conditions and mentality of peasant workers. The duality institution between cities and countries make peasant workers' work conditions very bad. Furthermore, they live very oppressive lives, which are instable and occlusive. Many peasant workers groups together in order to protect their own interests, which also led to many social problems at the same time of bring the sense of security to the peasant workers.
