This dissertation is consisted of five chapters. The first chapter explains the reform of Chinese foreign trade agency legislation on the basis of the doctrine of the agency of indirect principal.Chapter two explores the basis theory of agency laws both in the common law family and the civil law family. This chapter examines the various definitions and the nature of agency in different systems, and makes comparisons between the agency of law in civil law family and its counterpart in common law family.Chapter three explains the article 402 and article 403 of the Chinese contract law, especially the relationships among agent, principal and the third party.
