Ratings Chen Liang Utilitarian Political Thought

With the economy of the Zhejiang Province developing fast in recent years, the influence of Zhejiang Province is improving constantly in China. The Eastern School of Zhejiang was paid close attention by people day by day through concept and values which the academic research expressed. From the viewpoint of history, as the representative figure of the Eastern Zhejiang School, Chen Liang's thought was rich and distinct in his time. In the process of building socialism with Chinese characteristics at present, how to realize the traditional value in the contemporary society and change the shape of ideology and culture is very important. At the same time, how to make it the spiritual source or thought pillar of the contemporary economics and society is a question that we should take seriously. Moreover, this is original intention of my writing this thesis.On the research approach of the thesis, the thesis uses the historical analytic approach and historical comparative approach. In terms of historical development, the thesis explains and analyzes the Chen Liang's thought in the first part of the thesis. In addition, the thesis point out that Chen Liang's thought has not only broken away from primitive spirit of the Confucianists, but also made the thought of the Confucianists more abundant. Chen Liang thought that the Taoism is not oral education on people, it can also give consideration to realistic achievements and successes.On this basis, in the second part of the thesis, the author explains and analyzes the theoretical foundation of utilitarianism of political ideology of ChenLiang. ChenLiang had emphasized that the"Tao"existed in the things,"Tao"and thing are inalienable and the realization of"Tao"is not apart from the people's efforts. In ChenLiang's view, making country become prosperous and make people happy were the practice of the"Tao". Therefore, he had implemented the realization of"Tao"on the utility.In the third part of the thesis, the author analyzes the Chen Liang's utilitarianism political ideology. Political ideology of Chen Liang is based on the resurgence of country. He has inherited and developed the views of the Confucianists of the pre-Qin period, firmly objected to negotiation with aliens, and advocated dispatching troops to the Northern Expedition. He inherited and developed the traditional thought that based on people. He thought that kept the country peaceful, enriched the people and made the country prosperous were the basic principles of running a country. Besides, he also deeply understood that it was important to keep the different levels of society harmonious and the government should grows linkage with the masses and strengthen the connection between agriculture and commerce; The more valuable thought was, by paying attention to the talents with spirit of pioneer, he had seen people's initiative on the social development .In addition, the thesis points out the political ideology of Chen Liang contains abundant patriotism, realism, and the spirit that makes changes according to specific conditions and spirit of pioneering and inventing. The spirits through the long-term historical accumulation, not only has formed connotation of modern Yongkang spirit, and the important origin of"Zhejiang Spirit".To draw a conclusion, these thoughts of ChenLiang not only have been ahead of time under the historical condition at that time, but also it is the traditional wealth of China. Not only will it Promote the development of economy and that of social progress, but also it is the motive force to promote traditional culture to be prosperous in the future.
