Since the implementation of《Some Provisions of the Supreme People's Court on Evidence in Civil Procedures》from April 1, 2002 , the reform of civil trial style in country's court system has been deepened and it requires judge to confirm the evidences after that when they are presented and enquired by parties to the litigation. Judge should be ideologically and fully aware of the need of confirmation. However, at this stage the incompleteness of related China's laws and regulations has resulted in discrepancies and inaccuracies in understanding and mastering of concepts, principles, rules, standards and methods of confirmation by judges.Such discrepancies and inaccuracies often make parties unsatisfied with the judicial decisions of various instances and impact on judicial authority. In view of this situation this article discusses the concepts, principles, standards and mode of confirmation of evidence on a compared basis. Furthermore, this article has provided with concrete solution to some problems arisen from trial practicing and theoretical guidance for judges at present stage.
