Bill of Load is the most important one of bills of international marine shipping and has functions of property voucher,contract certificate and goods receipt for several hundred years. However, reform is needed since traditional bill of load does not keep up with the development of the information technology and its disadvantages appear which is outdated, full of tricks and of higher cost. The form of electronic bill of load combines the advantages of traditional means and technology of Electronic Digital Interchange and is much more safety,accurate and efficient. The new form is an inevitable trend in the future. However, related laws are not sufficient as the definition has not been given. Legislations of bill of load have emerged quickly along with lots of laws on e-business of many governments and international organizations. Laws on electronic bill of load of different countries may contradict with each other since few laws have been stipulated and each country has its own understanding of related laws. Problems of recognition of traditional bill of load,civil jurisdiction and application still exist in the field of electronic bill of load. It is needed that we should pay more attentions on related legislations with the development of electronic bill of load in China and also learn the experience of advanced international theory and practice. This thesis would do research in the analysis of the contradiction of traditional bill of load and electronic bill of load and the contradiction law of electronic bill of load in China. Finally, the thesis try to put forward suggestions on it.
