EU Regional Policy

The imbalance of regional development is an ordinary phenomenon in the process of world economic development. It has become a common practice of the governments of many countries to develop the regional division of labor and cooperation and implement aid policy toward backward areas. Western Europe is the place of origin of regional economic theories and regional policies. From the point of view of the development of European Integration, this paper expounds the necessity of formation and development of the EU's regional policy. On the basis of introducing the structure and main contents of the EU's regional policy, this paper discusses the effects of the EU's regional policy and the problems existing in the EU's regional development, and summarizes the beneficial experiences of the EU's regional policy and its benites for China to solve the problem of economic imbalance in different regions. Different countries have ways to help the background areas. The EU has its special mechanis to carry out its police. The regional diference in EU exists in two different levels: the economic gap in member states and between its member states. The EU regional police aim at solving the economic gap between its member states. To achieve this goal, the EU establishes its own target systems and exerts different measures.The implementation of regional police gains great success in economy. It shortens the gap between its member states, and improves the working condtions in background areas. It also receives good social and political effects and enhances its cohension of Europe.The EU regional police are an important part in the whoe polices of EU. It plays an important rule in developing the economy of background area in EU. So it is necessary to study this police and summarize its beneficial experience. China is country with large territory and it also faces the imbalance of regional development. So we can use EU's beneficial experience for reference to solve the problem effectively.
