At the angle of the relations of the good faith principle and the harmonious society, this paper expounds the historical development, the concept, the essence and the function of the good faith principle, the essence and the condition of the harmonious society, and discussed the function of the good faith principle in the harmonious society.After analyzing the history of good faith principle, we understood the relations of the good faith principle and the historical background. During analyzing the concept of the good faith principle, we found that the subjective good faith was missing and some content that was helpful for the harmonious society. From the essence and the function of the good faith principle, we pointed out the same things between the good faith and the harmonious society. At last, after understanding the relations of the harmonious society and the good faith principle, we argued and proved the interaction between the harmonious society and the good faith principle.
