Farmers, In The Process Of Modernization Of Socialism With Chinese Characteristics

The problem of peasants is a social problem thatappears in the transformationfrom traditional society to modern society. The problem, which has been put forwardafter the starting of modernization, only can be solved in the procession ofmodernization realization. Under the background of modernization, it has a certainreality consciousness to research the relationship between the problem of peasantsand socialist modernization construction, accounting to the reality that China is a bigcountry with great number of peasants. The Marxism classical writers had somediscourses on the problem of peasants in the transformation from traditional societyto modern society, but because of the limitation of history, the solution to thisproblem had been chosen in another way under the planned economy. The solutionto the problem of peasants must be based on the modernization, and we shouldrecognize the meaning of peasants during the development of market economy witha new theory sight and a new train of thought. After the reform and opening-up, theincome level has risen, but there was some differentiation phenomenon. Peasantsshould become the independent merchandise maker, based on the relationshipbetween tradition and modern, extraneous sources and intramural sources, and thegovernment and the society. In the modernization process of China, we must relatethis problem to the social reform, and solve the relationship between themodernization of peasants and the social reform, properly. And we should recognizethe foreground of peasants in the perspectives both of social modernization and themodernization of human beings.
