With the goal of building a harmonious society, the paper objects to the "juvenile termers in community", and pays much attention to the special education issue for this group. I began to carry out the research activities for the community-based correction in Fengtai district, Beijing following my mentor Pro. Fan Yanning from October, 2006. I understand the recent education status for the juvenile termers in community from the policy aspect. It can be said that the juvenile termers in community are excluded and abandoned in the formal School education system. Therefore, I appeal to concern the education issue of the juvenile termers in community in the field of special education. In addition, I deeply interviewed some juvenile termers in community during the research activities in order to discuss the importance and feasibility of the educational work and the methods of special education for the juvenile termers in community from the social work perspective, hoping which will provide some valuable information and reference for juvenile termers in community to successfully return to society and social stability. There are four chapters in this paper:The first chapter introduces the purposes, meaning, research thought and methods of this paper.The second chapter first defines the "juvenile termers in community", and reviews the connotation and extension of the "special education" at home and abroad. And then, ascends the methods that USA, Sweden and Hong Kong have done in field of special education and social work for the juvenile termers in community.In the third chapter, I deeply interviewed three juvenile termers in community as the social-ecological systems theory a framework, and then thought on the education needs from the filter theory, life-long education theory, and analyzed the education status of this group.The fourth chapter is the feasibility study of special education methods for the juvenile termers in community. According to the above analysis of relevant factors, I made recommendations from development of community education, professional social work aspects in order to have the more professional and the more effective education methods for the juvenile termers in community.
