Northeast Asia remains one of the most dynamic regions in the world and will remain so for the foreseeable future. The United States reaffirms its East Asia security strategy of bilateral alliances and military presence in order to preserved regional stability, so that fulfill its national interests. Japan and South Korea singed alliances treaties with the United States in 1951 and 1953 respectively. Although Japan and South Korea don't become alliances with each other, the two countries become quasi-alliance in fact according to the United States. Among the three countries, the United States dominate over other two countries, the relations between the United States and Japan and those the relations between the United States and South Korea are stable, while Japan and South Korea formed a special relationship either distant or close because of national interests, historical events and mutual mistrust. In international relations, the theory of Alliance is very important.Besides, there is informal security cooperation arrangement in international relations, based not on military treaties, but on tacit agreements between two or among more international regimes called quasi-alliance. There are exists that the action and reaction among three states or actors are generally called trilateral relations. Lowell Dittmer, an American scholar, proposes three styles of trilateral relations. This paper applies to the theory of alliance and quasi-alliance and trilateral relations, try to compare the developments of the U.S.-Japan and U.S.-ROK alliances and Japan-ROK relations after World WarⅡ.With the development of economy, China has become an important country in Northeast of Asia, at the last chapter of this paper will analysis China's attitude toward the U.S.-Japan and U.S.-ROK alliances from its former until now, and some views about its future trends will be also proposed.
