Contemporary Chinese Society In Transition During The Differentiation Of Interests And Political Identity

At present, China is in the key period of social transition, which refers to the transitional process one society transfers from traditional to modern society. It is a structural adjustment and transformation for the whole social system with the characteristics of specific direction and era, gradually advanced, overall and long run. As the special form of social changes, social transition will accelerate continuously because of the reason that the political system adopts the inner reform and open-up policy. People's life level increases; their economic status become multiple; their gap of life gradually enlarges; the former highly-integrated social structure disintegrates. As the main factor of social life, interest is the fundamental cause of all social members' political behaviors. Therefore, interest divisions caused by social transition become the most characteristic reflection of the whole social development and origin for all the social contradictions and problems. Political identity, as the social members" approval, confirmation, support for social public power, authority, and political institution, is also affected and strongly pounded by interest divisions, thus certain kind of political identity crisis emerge. The crisis does harm to the construction of harmonious society, which is the major strategic choice for the construction of well-being society and modernization. Only the harmonious society established on the basis of identity is the true one. Research on interest division and political identity during the period of social transition can supply theoretical support for recognizing harmonious society more deeply, and can also find the problems in the process of democratization and promote the sustainable development of economy, politics and culture.On the basis of this article will further make sure the traditional and practical facts of China as well as the stages and process of reform and modernization in contemporary conditions. By analyzing the reasons, content and characteristics of social transition, interest divisions and political identity, this article will analyze the effect caused by the previous two elements; countermeasures to political identity crisis as well as orientations and reconstruction routs for establishing positive, rational, multiple kind of political identity.Firstly, this article will analyze the background of social transition, to point out that interest division is the basic feature of social transition, which is also the origin of all the social contradictions and problems in the transitional period.
