After The Country's Military Modernization Path Study

This thesis is a case study about the routes of the Modernization of Military. In his paper, the author supposes that, comparing with the Modernization of the whole society, the Modernization of Military in one nation always follow some unique path and evolutive mode. According as the patterns of origin and the orientation of development, theses mode could be classified as the route of endodynamorphic/original and the route of ectodynamorphic/junior. The external variable is very important to the course of the Modernization of Military in the latter, because, without the basic elements of the Modernization, the junior nation could finish the the Modernization of Military by implementing the bilateral Military Intercommunion between developed states and themselves, and furthermore, promote the level of the Modernization of the whole society.By reviewing the Military Intercommunion between Republic of China and Germany in 1920s-1930s, the author revealed the significance of this Military Intercommunion:it trained the army of ROC, it enhanced the armaments of the army, it strengthened the morale of Chinese people, it took ROC onto the mainstream of the world politics, it promoted the level of Chinese Modernization of Military, this was also a new attempt of Chinese Modernization since the Late-Qing Era. Its Success and its failure provide momentous references for the Modernization of Military of PRC at present.The paper consists of four parts. The first chapter focuses on the theory of the course of Modernization of Military, argues about the two routes of the Modernization of Military. The second chapter is the case study, disserts on the Military Intercommunion between ROC and Germany from three dimensions. It also discusses the effects that this intercommunion had given to the military force of ROC, the Anti-Japanese War,and the whole Chineses society. The third chapter put the Military Intercommunion between ROC and Germany in the context of Chinese course of pursuit of the Modernization since 1840, during which, China become more and more international and exoteric. At last, based on the historical experience, the author composes his viewpoints and suggestions about the the Modernization of Military of PRC at present.
