Singapore's Authoritarian Political Model Study

As a newly rising nation-state which was independent just after World Warâ…¡, Singapore had gained remarkable achievements in the field of economic development and modernization under the leadership of People's Action Party in the past fifty years. The emergence of the so called "Singapore Miracle" was attributed to its unique authority political system. In a long time the political system of Singapore had seemed to be as same as the modern democracy because of the maintenance of the frame of competitively multi-party election system, nevertheless, it actually carried out a kind of authority political system providing PAP with hegemony to govern Singapore permanently. The formation of Singaporean authority political model was double effected by both the British colonial political frame and the Chinese traditional political culture brought in by Chinese migrants.
