| School Choice in Compulsory Education Stage is referred to as choosing school according to one's will, and not obey the educational policy as the near-by school enrollment way. The generation of school choice is inevitable, as it's the consequence of social, economic, education and many other aspects.The behavior of school choice has a long history and has emerged in ancient China. The story of the mother Meng moved three times to the good study of her the child, is a good example to exemplify this phenomenon. We should notice that today's school choice is largely different from the ancient way. The former is appeared in the late of 1980s, with the emergence of private schools. In the past twenty years, school choice issue has been received much public and social concern. The relevant educational documents frequently prohibit school choice in compulsory, but with little success. In the new era and a new background, school choice has emerged the new features and development tendency:one is the more extensive coverage of school choice, has spread from the cities to the county and rural areas; the another is the higher cost of the school choice and education spending, which is the miniature of the unfair education.The behavior of the school choice is widespread, and has not yet been effectively addressed. To study its reason, the uneven distribution of educational resources, and the shortage of quality resources is the main cause of its formation; in addition, the current education selection and single evaluation method, the widen methods stratum gap and the competition preparation for social participation, all are the stimulating elements for this phenomenon. In a sense, school choice increases the funding of schools capital, but to generally speaking, it is more harm than good. Firstly, it made the educational resources allocation more unbalanced; secondly, it made the exam-oriented education stronger; third, it increased the financial burden of parents; the last one is, it is detrimental to physical and mental health of students.As a method to choose the high quality education for student, school choice is the direct reflection of contradictions of education reform, and also the powerful call for education reform. To solve this problem needs a long time, because the education system reform and the people's ideological change require a gradual process. This paper argues that we can solve the current stage of school choice from the following four aspects:Firstly, it is necessary to improve the existing school management mechanisms; secondly, to increase investment in basic education and transfer funds appropriately to weaken schools; third, to balance the educational resources, and promote the school standardization construction; fourth, to explore the area teachers flow resource sharing mechanism.The large-scale school-choice behavior is contradictory to the principle education fairness. Based on the fair education principle, the paper put forward some proposals to solve the school-choice fade to promote China's education towards a harmonious way. |
