The School-based Curriculum Development and the way to practice it is based on the necessity of biology courses revolution. When School-based Curriculum Development can motivate personal development of students, it can provide brand new opportunities for teachers and school at the mean time. Through reviewing definition and literature of School-based Curriculum Development, this article investigated the development progress and current situation of one biology curriculum in Nanjing S Middle School.The investigation methods include observation, questionnaire, and interview. Using interviewing method to interview this biology curriculum teacher in charge and the biology teachers of grad one; using questionnaire method to investigate the students who select this curriculum during the investigation. Taking the advantage of the Excel software to entered and translated the obtained data which from the questionnaire, and then tabulated after classification for analysis. The findings show that this curriculum promotes students’ development, enhances teachers’ level of teaching and promotes school’s image. But the findings also show that there are some areas for improvement such as inadequate use of educational resources, unclear division of responsibilities and imperfect management of the curriculum supervision. To solve these problems teachers and school could take full advantage of social resources, school assets and curriculum feature to spread the influence of School-based Curriculum, and develop more effective teaching methods, and strengthen the received knowledge of students, also, establish a managerial platform for the usage of all resources and provide professional training, etc.
