Carrying out practical activities in geography teaching process is significant. First, from the academic characteristics, the geography is a highly practical discipline in natural sciences, The practice is to expand and deepen the teaching of geography. Second, from the new high school curriculum standards in terms of geography, geography teaching is to train students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge.On the other side, teachers in the class.just from scripted the textbooks, students may is not deep to contents that the teacher instruct, if the practice of teaching is applied to the teaching,then, which can be arouse students’ interest in geography, more importantly, the theoretical knowledge can be expanded, strengthened and deepened by the practices,which can improve teaching effectiveness, the role is great. As the result of increasing emphasis on the role of practice in recent years of the entrance, some more experimental exam, which will usually test the students’ ability in geography study. Therefore, the study of the current practice of teaching about high school geography is significant.This thesis uses the theoretical review, questionnaires and interviews with teacher exchanges to analysis of how to carry out good practice in middle school with Shaanxi Province, Pucheng county middle school.The results that obtained in this article are as follow:Trough the questionnaire, we found the following problems in Pucheng county high school:①the attitude of the majority of geography teachers to the teaching practice is not active, this attitude is to some extent to restrict the practice of teachers teaching;②class tensions affect the practice of teachers teaching. Most teachers said themselves were in charge of four or five classes’ teaching task, because of the large curriculum and tense hours arrangements, no more time to practice;③practices focused on classroom workshops, geographic presentation experiments, and study tours to observe observing classes, hands-on class rarely carried out. Overall, the practice is a single type,and not deep. In short, the current practice of teaching development situation is not very optimistic.Through interviews with teachers, I found there are several reasons for the situation in the teaching practice activities that is not optimistic:①the lack of expertise and experimental literacy;②schools do not attach importance to the practice of teaching;③school conditions are not supported.Finally, there is the practice to carry out activities for the Pucheng county problems suggestions:①attention to ideological geography teacher practice;②improving the teachers’professional knowledge and ability, improving teachers’ professional knowledge and practical ability literacy includes teachers themselves to improve their professional knowledge and practical ability, schools to be more training and exchanges between teachers, by the methods,the school can improve teachers’ practical ability literacy and professional knowledge;③schools should establish relevant management systems and supervision mechanisms;④The schools and the teachers should create conditions actively to carry out practical activities including the establishment of specialized laboratories geography and some necessary equipments to create conditions for the practice of extra-curricular activities, such as emphasis on field practice base choice emphasis on local geography; ensure the the students’ safety in the practice field.
