Along with the development of the industrial revolution, the revolution of science and technology, and knowledge economy, the education level of workers is becoming higher and higher, the role of education in economic development is more and more important, and it has become an indispensable element in the national economy production. In the industrial structure upgrading of our country, lots of problems as the low quality of the labor, the mismatch of the structure is appearing. The factors of production need to be matched with the upgrading of the industrial structure, and the progress of science and technology, the increase of the labor quality are inseparable from the education, so education is required to adapt to the needs of economic development and serve for the industrial structure upgrading. Study on the economic mechanism between the education and industrial structure upgrading, describing the main performance that the education development hinder the industrial structure upgrading of our country, analyzing the reasons that the education development restrict the industrial structure upgrading, and putting forward the policy recommendations that adjust the economic development mode to promote the industrial structure upgrading, has important theoretical and practical significance to promote China’s industrial structure upgrading.This paper aims to analyze the economic mechanism of the relationship between education and industrial structure upgrading. Through the study of the economic mechanism, the paper analyzes the barrier factor to promote industrial structure upgrading in our country, finds out the main causes which hinder the operation, and tries to put forward to the policy recommendations that the education promote the industrial structure upgrading. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, describes the research background and significance, gives a review domestic research at present, and introduces the methods and structure of the paper. The second part expounds the economic mechanism of the relationship between the education and industrial structure upgrading. The meaning of the industrial structure upgrading was defined and described. The optimization and upgrading of industrial structure demands the production inputs being matched with the structure, and education is a prerequisite for the optimization of the production inputs structure, so the development of education is the long-term driving force to promote industrial structure upgrading. The third part describes the main performance that the education development hinder the industrial structure upgrading of our country. It is the development of education in China is difficult to meet the requirements of the labor force population in industrial structure upgrading, educational resource allocation structure is difficult to meet requirements of the talent structure adjustment in the industrial structure upgrading, professional settings is difficult to meet the requirements of the talent structure in the industrial structure upgrading. The fourth part analyzes the reasons that the education development restrict the industrial structure upgrading, including the total amount of insufficient investment in education, the structure is imperfect and lag reform of the education system, etc. The fifth part combines the fourth part and puts forward the policy recommendations that adjust the economic development mode to promote the industrial structure upgrading, specific recommendations are put forward from the four areas that the government, society, enterprises and schools.
