Since it attracts attention of domestic education researcher from 2005, Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), has become one of the topic issues of teaching research. Besides PCK, Mathematical Pedagogical Content Knowledge (MPCK), which is more suitable for mathematics, arouses wide attention by math education researcher. At present, domestic scholars have studied MPCK from multi-aspects. Quite a few achievements have been made during the study.Take student teachers from mathematics department, Yangzhou University for instance, this thesis will research the formation and development status among those student teachers. In this paper, the group of MPCK elements follows standards raised by Professor LI Miao and NING Lian-hua, including Mathematics Knowledge (MK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), Content Knowledge (CK) and Technology Knowledge (TK). This study will compare the students from different pedagogical education stages in mainly two points, (1), development paths of MPCK, (2), level of mastery MPCK. By the comparison, this thesis draws the conclusion of how MPCK normally forms and develops among student teachers, so that reflection and discuss will be made which aims to put forward a workable way for university to optimize their training methods.This thesis consists of eight chapters. Chapter zero is introduction part, from where we can see the research background, content, significance, methods and tools of this study. Chapter one, the literature reviews part, will take relevant domestic and oversea researches for example, to set a theoretical basis for this study. Chapter two shows several delimitation of research dimensions related to the thesis. Chapter three to six are main parts of analysis. Investigations will be made through questionnaires, tests, interviews concerning four elements of MPCK. Then existing problems will be found out and the reasons will be surveyed. Chapter seven draws the conclusion that student teachers have great defects in MPCK formation and development, especially in the mastery level of MPCK, etc. By the same time, this part will propose a workable way for university to optimize the training.
