Physical and health of students is an important basic work of school sports. China’s ministry of education department since 1985 were conducted seven times the national student physique and health research. Seventh research found that, compared with 2010, primary and middle school students’ physical quality decline in contained, but college students’ physical quality "continued to slow down" trend. And college students shoulder the important mission of the construction of Chinese socialist modernization power, if they don’t have good physical security, construction of human resources power is impossible. Therefore, this problem is not we ignored and avoided, right now, how to solve this problem is more important and urgent.In this paper, the physical quality index of the college students fell more obvious as the research domain, with 12 minutes to run as the breakthrough point, using the method of documentary, questionnaire, interview method, experimental method, comparative method and other research methods, as part of Business School students of Yunnan Normal University as subjects, for 12 minutes to run to the influence of the ordinary university student health fitness to carry out the research. Through the analysis of the results of the study and discussion, the following main conclusions and Suggestions:(1) 12 minutes to run for the college students’ cardiopulmonary function, flexibility, endurance, strength, quality promotion and prevention of the occurrence of central obesity have a significant effect;(2) 4 months of training for students of man in BMI, WHR has no obvious effect, but the woman WHR had significant changes;(3) For the college students’ group, 12 minutes to run the operation is simple, more reasonable exercise load, the main body quality promotion effect is obvious, and the relative distance, not too monotonous and boring. Thus, 12 minutes race can be run as an improved student health fitness exercise methods for promotion.
