School improvement is not only an important way to overcome the difficulties in the process of school development, but also a pursuit of higher level quality of public service of compulsory education. Different schools need to integrate the internal and external elements in the exploration of the school improvement. Based on the perspective of school improvement strategies,this paper aims to improve the integration of existing research results, and build the theoretical framework of school improvement. Also,this paper will summarize effective strategies and of school improvement through the analysis of the Shanghai New High Quality Schools.According to the analysis of the school system’s characteristic and value pursuit,this paper discusses the significance and necessity of school improvement. By summarizing the internal and external factors that influence school improvement, this paper studied the driving force for school improvement. The fundamental driving force of school improvement comes from the schools themselves, so the president is the leader of school improvement. Further to enhance the principal’s leadership as a starting point, the paper elaborates the implementation mechanism of school improvement. School improvement implementation mechanism consists of three parts:to improve the teaching quality as the core of the educational activities, to improve the school’s overall framework as target of school governance activities, the system construction as main component of school management activities,and finally construct the formation of school improvement.Based thesis on the construction of school improvement pattern, this paper reveal the whole idea and implementation of New High Quality Schools. By the means of text analysis and In-depth interview. Also, it describes the implementation of principal’s leadership and the inspiration of teacher’s power and ability to upgrade school improvement. With the improvement model oriented, this paper also inquire efficient strategies and methods to promote school improvement in reality, thus summarizing the general rules to help school improvement. And based on the improvement pattern and problems in the practice, the paper puts forward the corresponding optimization strategies for reference to more school improvement.
