In China, reforms in English teaching methods have been taken. In view of the defects in present teaching, we try to discover the psychological regularity of English teaching and find a more effective way to upgrade its quality through a teaching experiment.Pictures and demonstrations are used in aesthetic teaching method to make students?learning activity become a kind of aesthetic appreciation activity and arouse students?study interest and motivation. An experiment of its application to 71 junior school freshmen for 2 months, indicated that the method can effectively improve students?learning ability and is especially helpful to average or lower students; it is conducive to raise students?oral expression skill; it is feasible and effective in practice.The value of this research lies in two points. One is that it tries to probe the effectiveness and feasibility of aesthetic teaching method in English to improve middle school students?comprehensive ability and a good way to upgrade teaching quality. The other is that it probes psychological regularity of English education and accumulates scientific materials and provides proof for the establishment of English teaching psychology.
