The article, which systematically discusses the relationship between metacognition and mathematical problem solving,can be divided into the following five parts .Part One: Demonstrating the structure, this chapter reveals the essence of metacognition .Part Two: After a brief introduction to the background of problem solving in mathematics education, mathematical problems, their corresponding solutions as well as ways used in teaching are touched in this chapter .Part Three: In this chapter, firstly, the conception of mathematical metacognition is introduced. Then it discusses the structure of methematical thought ?and emphasizes the function of metacognition in problem solving as well.
