This is a paper intended to study the cultivation of chemical substances classification thought from the angle of the trinity of history, philosophy and science teaching (HPS in short). Based on expounding of the philosophical and summarizing the development process, this thesis puts forward the content and instruction value of cultivating chemical substances classification thought during secondary school chemistry instruction and presents 10 instruction strategies.To provide a reliable theoretical foundation of the research, first analyzes the categories and features of chemical substances from the aspect of philosophy and illustrates the principles and types of chemical substances classification thought.
